So still toying with this during my non school/work/house/olivia/music time.....rough colors are just temporary to help me visualize what I am looking at
no optimization has been done sitting right a 1200 polys......kinda exspensive but I'll fix that later.....I want to get to texturing this furry little dude... for a style reference here is one of the inspirations

Weekend Low poly adventure

So between, new job, new school, new baby, new musical out look,etc....... I have been feeling like art has taken the back burner. So this weekend I intend to try a quick easy low polygon character. It's inspired by the path of 8 challenge on GameArtisans but I am already past the deadline so it will be just for fun. Here is the initial concept doodle from work...going for a hand painted textures chibish style....
---- Rules ---- 1. under 1500 tri's 2. 512x512 texture map 3. no normal maps....but alphas and emissions are ok ok here is modelling end of night 1 250 triangles currently long ways to go

So it's time to get back in the habit of sculpting everyday so I've challenged myself in addition to all the other crap I'm doing right now to try and get an hour sculpt time lapse video put up here everyday...I make no guarantees as to quality but at the very least it'll  keep me fresh with zbrush. Hi detail texturing


No I'm not dead just busy. Here's what I've been working on today getting my textures to look like flesh as opposed to pictures being projected on a mesh. Let me know what you think...oh the ears on the girl on the right are never going to be seen in this project so I'm leaving them for now. I can always go back and detail them out. As always let me know.

Snow-pocalypse catch up

Okay so I realized about the time I turned 25 that this entire week I havent put any progress up here. The majority of the work for the last week has been story boarding and ortho graphic projection but I put together some build ups of things you may or may not have seen yet. Colors!!...????


So its snowing in DC and the entire town is wigging out. After a walk to Panera I decided I would do some paint overs of the sathar to try to start hacking out a pallette. Let me know if any of these jump out at you. As always click the thumb for a bigger image. Trying to get as snake like as possible. Keep in mind that these are just the bases for me to attach more gear to....I'm realizing I say that in every post.... ANYWAYS let me know what you think.

Sathar Fire Team


Started working on the Sathar nasties today. Support is a heavy weapons guy, thinking big ass minigun hurling nasty green plasma at our intrepid group. Let me know but I think the scales are too similar they don't read as different. They will all three have very different sets of equipment and I'm going to make probably 4 color schemes each for the assault and support guys I only have one wrangler in the storyboards right now so...we will see. As usual if you see something you like or hate let me know. All right, off to practice....

The human cast is assembled


So the humans are modelled. I think they look enough like their reference to look good but different enough I dont get in trouble. We will see when I add hair and color. Just need a Yazirian and some bad guys at this point. I'm ahead of schedule for this project which is an awesome feeling. It has to be fully rendered by December so Gonna keep pushing hard. Would really love to have this project continue as fluidly as it has been rolling so far.

Clothe work


So working on the Corporal today, trying to get him in uniform. Got the base layer down now just need clips, battery pack, hair, finished boots, weapons, pockets on the vest, electronic devices, three belts, and goggles. Wow these are gonna be elaborate characters before they are done.
Anyways let me know what you think of the clother work so far. Little nice but have to keep in mind gonna ad some through dynamics and the rig later on. ......yes I know another dude in T pose.....

I've kept this one under my hat for awhile, she's lookin good in her boots and goggles tonight though so thought I would sneak a shot of her. She's got about ten tons of steam-punk gear to be attached yet, but I think the base level is looking pretty good if I do say so myself. The hair is far too ordinary I'm afraid but...... ahh well its a separate sub tool I can always delete it and do whatever tickles my fancy later. Let me know what you think.

Bullets for my guns


Yes I know its silly. But I dont know any other digital artist who doesnt get giddy when they play with particles and physics engines. Finished up textures for the bullets and wanted to make my own silly lord of war shot. Here it let me Know what you think.

On a gun kick think I'll make a pack of them


So i am on a gun kick the last two days i realize but this one is so much fun and so useful I had too. Here it is the British 1897 Lee-Enfield Long rifle .303. If you arent familiar with this rifle you really should research it, it is probably one of the most prollific weapons ever made still in use today very heavily.

INSOMNIA!!!!!!


So I couldn't sleep and I realized I havent modelled a projectile weapon in ages so, to arm my new Taliban models I modelled an AK-47 1.5 hours needs optimized but personally I'm proud of it. Not as accurate as some models I have seen and it needs some surface detail but... hey it 3 AM lolz

So after cranking 6 character models out in like two weeks, I really needed something different so I dug up that old demo of LWCAD.... about 15 minutes in doing the tutorial. I have to say it seems like the most underated plugin for a 3d package I've ever come across.

So here we go, this is going to be an experiment where I will fill a page a day with doodles and scribbles and post them. I cant guarantee anything interesting but hopefully it will be good for a laugh.
